CM: The letter " A” that contained " elaborate embelleshment and fantastic flourishes of gold thread” that she sewed was a brand designed to damage Hester, but rather, she switched the situation around, and recognized the " A” like a work of art.

CM: This scarlet letter performed as a gorgeous design, causing the women in the colony to aspire it as it was certainly not of common Puritan style and vogue.
